In 2008, the fight for marriage equality was raging across the states. Maine was one of the first states to pass a marriage equality law through a veto-proof majority in their state legislature. However, citizens put the question on the ballot for voters to decide directly in 2009, and they voted to overturn the law before it could take effect. I was furious, and for the first time ever, I wrote a fight song. While this issue was the impetus for me writing these lyrics, I did not write directly about what inspired them. Frost Giant has not been and never will be a political band and we are not preachy at all. Instead, this song is about asking yourself what you are willing to fight for and if necessary, die for. Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is? Are you going to get off the fence and take a stand knowing it could cost you? That people may hate you for it? That you will be ostracized for doing the right thing even though the majority of people see it differently? This is a question we all have to face based on the principles we have, and even though this song was written and recorded in 2010, the theme of the lyrics is as relevant as ever.
lyrics
Will you stand with me, fight and die if need be,
Hold against the hordes until the last man falls?
Will you sacrifice all you have gained in life?
Reject your comfort for a greater end?
Stand together, never waver
Brave in the face of overwhelming odds
For our future, and for freedom,
We unite in liberty or death!
The evil stirs from its sleep
And no one will be safe from its reach
For we shall fight to be free
And never will we bend our knee
Forever clawing, fight like a demon
Taking it to the very bitter end
Swords are drawing, battle cries forming
Storm clouds are churning, soon there will be war
The earth will be fed with blood
And the skies will weep unto the dead
Never give up, never back down
We unite in liberty or death
Tonight we lay down our lives
In the path of those who would opress
And enslave us to their god
And trod us under till we are no more!!
Not while I draw breath, will I submit, will I accept
Not while I draw breath, will I bow down, nor will I live with empty regret.
Now feel the sting of a thousand swords
Vanquish the hordes, drive them away
To the darkness from whence they came
Obliterate, they are no more!!
Overwhelm them all, take what is ours
Crush the wretched enemy
Bring victory to our hearth and home.
Inspired by Norse mythology, epic metal, punk rock, and combined with an American hardcore attitude and mead-hall sing-along
choruses, Frost Giant drops an icy hammer on everything trendy and weak. Frost Giant's music journeys through stories and lore, bringing to light the tales of old in a modern folk-metal context....more

This album is amazing! I'm so grateful that this band was recommended to me. The beautiful melodic tunes combined with the gutteral heaviness that the band brings is incredible. Can't pick a fave track just yet. Let me have another 100 listens before I choose... ;) Matthew Skipworth

Redneck Vikings from Hell feels like Aether Realm took what they learned from Tarot and just said 'yeah we can top that' and they fucking DID. Insane album, still the best Melodeath in the industry C10H16

The songs are masterfully composed and flow together beautifully, and the orchestration is exactly how I want metal orchestration to sound: full, playable by a real orchestra, and just as important to the music as the vocals, drums, guitar, and bass are. tonycordeshimself
