Of Blood And Sunset

from The First Veil Of Snow by Frost Giant

/

about

When I started recording with Jay Esbensen, this was the first song I began writing on the spot. It's about being cruelly immortalized- your consciousness living forever, but being rooted to one spot on Earth, unable to move or wander, until the end of time.

lyrics

A spirit frozen in time,
A body rooted in the winter night
A prisoner of the Earth
Condemned to stillness for eternity

He sees all time pass before scarred eyes
Thhoughts of a thousand hears without voice

He burns with the cruel sunrise
The sunset brings to him unwanted life
Enslaved immortality
A burden borne forevermore

Lost among the misty pines
Forgotten grave, unhallowed, haunted ground
Destined to see till the end
But none shall hear of any prophecy.

No one will hear these words I'm screaming
Or sense the echoes that I'm feeling.
