The First Veil Of Snow

from The First Veil Of Snow by Frost Giant

/

about

This early song was written about entropy and is just my way of wrapping my head around existential dread. i know, pretty metal, right? Winter as a metaphor for death, except without the rebirth angle.

lyrics

Like fresh air to the flame
Instance of extinction
Like a breath drawn in vain
As if we were never here...
As if we were never here at all
First veil of snow covers our graves
As if we were never here at all
Seasons go on, forgotten race
No more!
Leaves turn to grey
The world won't remember
No more..

Crumbling relics of the past,
Great works that fall into dust
No one to see the epitaph
Nothing will stop the fading
Into forever
Eternal
Veil of white, wash away
Into oblivion
Time goes on, crushed by days
Fading evermore

Freeze into memory, eternal.
